Historical Societies

There are two historical societies in the Williams Valley, one at Clarence Town and one at Dungog. As well there are the closely associated societies at Gresford and Paterson. All with the exception of Gresford run their own museums.

Websites of Interest

For a history of Paterson and its people have a look at the excellent Paterson RIver website. Also excellent is the Coal River Working Party for information on Newcastle and the Hunter. Another site that has many Hunter Valley and some Williams River information is Free Settler or Felon.

The University of Newcastle Cultural Collections has also recently put up a very interesting collection of postcards made by Dungog photographer George Kelly showing scenes from the early 20th century.
